Unparalleled Experience
“In my almost 40 years in this business, I have seen what works and what doesn’t – It’s all about sharing knowledge and teaching practical ways to help companies better protect themselves in
order to better protect their customers.”
An Air Force Veteran, Jeff served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years as a public health professional, where he developed his knowledge of a wide range of management training and staff development
programs. During his time in the Air Force, he co-authored critical food defense guidance that was adopted by the Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as well as most
of the food industry, after September 11, 2001. His strengths in food safety and food defense took him to Andrews Air Force Base, where he was responsible for food safety on Air Force One and the
Executive U.S. Air Force Fleet Service. Jeff was selected as the career field manager consultant for the U.S. Air Force Public Health field and was responsible for the professional development of
over 1,400 food safety airmen around the globe.
A member of the Federal Food Safety Coalition, as he was preparing for retirement from the Air Force, Jeff was approached by many fellow members to serve as a contracted facilitator after his
retirement. He knew he wanted to continue to make a difference and he saw that the food industry needed his expertise the most. Unique with his perspective as a former auditor, Jeff provides
top-level consulting and training on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) audits. He is also an Approved Training Provider (ATP) and consultant for the British
Retail Consortium (BRC) Standard as well as an approved trainer for the Preventive Controls Qualified Individual for Human Food and for Seafood HACCP. Speaking to his ability to deliver effective
training, Jeff was selected as the Safe, Quality Food Institute Quality Achievement Award winner as Trainer of the Year for 2015.
A Natural Teacher
“It’s important to be able to take the very technically complex topics and break them down to ensure all of my students have a clear understanding.”
An accomplished educator, Jeff has been training HACCP since 1987 and helped bring seafood HACCP to the Air Force commissary stores worldwide and remains a food defense expert for many companies,
helping them to better prepare and respond to intentional contamination events. He has assisted food manufacturing, distribution, pet food, seafood and food packaging companies in building
HACCP-based systems and achieving fully accredited HACCP certifications through the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked audit systems. His vast experience and natural ability to connect
with those he trains has contributed to a devout following of over 150 people who take every course he teaches.
Passionate with an
Educated Foundation
“I’m passionate about making a difference in the food industry. I provide free tools to help my clients’ companies build and improve their food safety systems. My clients know I am in it for the
long term with them, their successes are my successes.”
With his extensive background in food safety, food defense, problem solving, instructional system development and distance learning, Jeff provides a level of consulting and training unlike any in his
field. His education serves as a foundation to his vast knowledge of his field. A graduate of William Carey College, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in general studies as well as a Master’s
Degree in Public Health, with a focus on epidemiology of food borne illness from Walden University, and USAF Associate degrees in Environmental Health Technology, Instructional Systems Technology and
